◆「電車で」:"on (or in) the train"
"on (or in) the train" は「(どの電車であるかを問題にしない)一般的な電車」または「その電車で」。 on the bus" の場合も同様。

◆「お年寄り」:"elderly (or old) people"、"the elderly (or aged)"、"an elderly (or old) person"

◆「自分の席を譲る」:"give (up) one's seat / one's seat (up)"、"offer one's seat"

It goes without saying that you should give your seat (up) to elderly (or old) people (or the elderly, the aged) on (or in) the train.
It is unnecessary (or There is no need) to say that you should offer your seat to elderly (or old) people (or the elderly, the aged) on (or in) trains.
Needless to say, you should give (up) your seat for an elderly (or old) person on (or in) the train.

dead(死者) living(生きている人々) poor(貧しい人々) rich(金持ちの人々) wealthy(富裕な人々) well-off(裕福な人々) well-to-do(富裕階級) young(若い人々) old(老人) aged(高齢者) elderly(年配の人々) ablebodied(健常者) disabled(身障者) handicapped((やや古く無礼)身障者) blind(目の不自由な人々) deaf(耳の不自由な人々) dumb(口のきけない人々) injured(負傷者) wounded(負傷者) sick(病弱な人々) mentally ill(精神病者) weak(弱者) unemployed(失業者) homeless(家のない人々) guilty(有罪の人々) innocent(無実の人々) wise(賢者) brave(勇敢な人々) beautiful(美しい人々) good(善良な人々) など

× the happy, the disgusting, the lovely, the exciting, the foreign など
× the asleep, the glad, the present など
