Izu Peninsula has three aspects - the east, the central and the west districts.
The east district of Izu faces Sagami Bay, and has many sightseeing spots
such as Atami, Ito, Izu Heights and Atagawa, where you can enjoy not only
hot springs, but also many sophisticated art museums and amusement parks.
The south end of Izu Peninsula is Shimoda, the city of marine resort with
the atmosphere of the tropical world. Shimoda is also a historic place
where Perry visited in order to open Japan to the world in the end of the
19th Century, and you can visit many historic places. Naka-Izu is called
"Amagi Route" zone, with many spa resorts in the forest, such as Shuzenji
and Amagi-Yugashima. This district has been loved by many great authors,
and there are many beautiful and historic spots. The west district of Izu
faces Suruga Bay, the coast line is gentle, and the atmosphere is peaceful.
There are many famous spa resorts such as Toi, Heda and Dogashima, where
you can enjoy abundant seafood. How many times you visit, you must be satisfied.
